On July 21, a meeting was held at the Constitutional Court with a delegation led by Pakistan's Minister of State for Law and Justice Aqeel Malik.

Welcoming the guests, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev emphasized that the strategic partnership and unwavering friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on mutual trust. It was noted that Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize our independence, and both countries support each other on all issues in international institutions.

The Chairman noted that the mutual understanding between the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in all areas creates a solid foundation for the development of the strategic alliance, further expansion of bilateral co-operation, and enrichment of relations with new content.

Further, Farhad Abdullayev provided detailed information about the activities of the Constitutional Court, the decision-making procedure, the mechanism for implementation of constitutional justice, the role of the court in protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as the work done to build a legal state and ensure the supremacy of the Constitution. He emphasized that in modern era, professional dialogue, mutual exchange of experience, and expansion of legal co-operation between constitutional courts are of great importance in terms of increasing the efficiency of constitutional justice.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Law and Justice Aqeel Malik expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, noting that the friendly relations between our countries are important for both peoples, and the importance of further expanding relations in the legal and judicial fields. The Minister highly appreciated the achievements achieved as a result of reforms in the legal sphere of our republic, and expressed satisfaction with the familiarization with the activities of the Constitutional Court. He expressed his confidence that the mutual meetings will make a significant contribution to further strengthening the unshakable close relations between the two countries, expanding co-operation in the field of law and justice, as well as continuing the exchange of advanced experience in the development of constitutional review.

At the meeting, a wide exchange of views took place on modern legal approaches in judicial practice, improving the effectiveness of human rights protection, introducing digitalization and artificial intelligence into the judicial system, as well as the prospects for international legal co-operation.
