On September 9, a delegation led by Farhad Abdullayev,
Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid a
working visit to the city of Batumi, Georgia.
The delegation included Judge of the Constitutional
Court Rashid Rzayev and Secretary General Anar Babayev.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held
with the President of the Constitutional Court of Georgia Revaz Nadaraia and
the judges of the court.
Revaz Nadaraia, President of the Constitutional Court
of Georgia, welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation and shared his pleasant
impressions of his visit to Azerbaijan to attend the event dedicated to the
30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan
in 2025.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception,
Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev noted the developing
friendly and co-operative relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia across
various fields and emphasized the importance of existing ties between the two
countries for further deepening co-operation within their legal and judicial
systems.
The parties considered the dynamics of the development
of Azerbaijani-Georgian relations in various directions and noted the
importance of mutual visits of the heads of the two states.
Extensive discussions were then held on dialogue and
co-operation between the constitutional courts in order to strengthen the rule
of law.
Also in focus were issues related to ensuring the rule
of law, trends in the development of constitutional justice, as well as the
expansion of mutual exchange of experience between constitutional courts.
In addition, issues of constitutional law arising in
judicial practice were considered, the legal and practical approaches of the
parties to these issues were presented.
The meeting also served as a platform for a mutual
exchange of views and experiences regarding modern reforms and processes being
implemented within the judicial systems.
Within the framework of the event, the importance of
the existing co-operation between the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan and
the Constitutional Court of Georgia was emphasized. The importance of constant
expansion of mutual dialogue in order to strengthen the rule of law and the
development of constitutional justice was noted.
On September 10, the Azerbaijani delegation met with
the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Zurab
Pataradze and the Chairman of the Supreme Council Tsotne Ananidze.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding
the level of development of judicial-legal relations between Azerbaijan and
Georgia, opportunities for expanding co-operation, and prospects for ties in
the legal and judicial spheres.
At the same time, comprehensive information was
provided regarding the friendly and fraternal partnership relations between
Azerbaijan and Georgia in the modern era, and the development dynamics across
all sectors were highlighted.
During the visit, the Consul General of Azerbaijan in Batumi Fuad Azizov took part in the meetings.
