On April 9, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev met with a delegation led by the Ombudsman of Slovakia Róbert Dobrovodský, who was on a visit to our country.

Welcoming the guests, Chairman Farhad Abdullayev noted that mutual understanding and support between Azerbaijan and Slovakia also carries the nature of strategic partnerships.

The Chairman then presented information on the activities of the Constitutional Court, reforms, and innovations being implemented in the judicial and legal sphere of our country and emphasized the importance of the courts' tasks in ensuring human rights. He also particularly noted the effective cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsman's Office in ensuring constitutional rights.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Róbert Dobrovodský highly appreciated the bilateral relations between our countries and noted the importance of developing these relations in the judicial and legal sphere, as well as in other areas. Also, the Ombudsman emphasized that the experience accumulated by both countries in the field of human rights protection will open up broad opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Later, the prospects for the development of future relations between the parties, the possibility of implementing joint projects and a wide exchange of views on legal issues were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva, as well as senior officials of the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsman's office.

In conclusion, the guests got acquainted with the Constitutional Court building and took commemorative photographs.
