On October 8, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of
the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev met with Judge of the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Hungary Akosh Kozma and Secretary
General Vivien Kozma, who are on a working visit to our country.
Welcoming the guests, Chairman Farhad Abdullayev said
that the close co-operation between the Republics of Azerbaijan and Hungary in
many areas is based on the mutual trust and understanding formed between the
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime
Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orban, and creates an important foundation for
strengthening relations between these two states in all areas.
It was noted that the close relations formed between
Azerbaijan and Hungary also contribute to the expansion of co-operation in the
judicial and legal sphere. In particular, the exchange of experience on the
effectiveness of constitutional review, including the implementation of
mechanisms for ensuring the rights of citizens enshrined in the Constitution,
is important for the activities of both courts.
During the meeting, detailed information was presented
on the activities of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
the decision-making procedure, a number of legal positions of the Court, an
exchange of views was held on the role of the Constitutional Courts in the
development of the rule of law, the current state of co-operation between the
Constitutional Courts and issues of further development.
Further, Mr. Akosh Kozma thanked for the warm welcome
and emphasized the usefulness of cooperation with the Constitutional Court of
the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Was also noted the importance of development in the
field of constitutional justice within the framework of the World Conference on
Constitutional Justice, the Conference of European Constitutional Courts, and
other international institutions.
At the end of the event, the guests got acquainted with the building of the Constitutional Court and took commemorative photos.
