An event to introduce new judges to the staff was held at the Constitutional Court

On July 7, upon the recommendation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the decision of the Milli Majlis, newly appointed judges Otari Gvaladze, Farhad Tutayuk, Rauf Guliyev and Rashid Rzayev were introduced to the staff of the Constitutional Court. The event was attended by judges and designated employees of the Court.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev noted that this year marks 30 years since the adoption of the first Constitution of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, and at the same time 5 years since the restoration of our sovereignty and the legal effect of the Constitution throughout the territory of Azerbaijan as a result of the liberation of our lands. The Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 28, 2024 on declaring 2025 as the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" is an important event in the development of modern Azerbaijani statehood and is of particular importance in terms of strengthening the values of legal statehood and sovereignty.

In his speech, Farhad Abdullayev spoke about many years of successful work in the field of improving the efficiency of justice, about the merits of the judges of the Constitutional Court in the judicial and legal system, whose term of office has expired, emphasizing that they have always demonstrated high professionalism as judges of the Constitutional Court, as well as about their efforts to protect human rights and freedoms.

Then Farhad Abdullaev congratulated the new judges of the Constitutional Court on their appointment to office, wished them success in their future activities and emphasized the importance of this appointment for the legal community. The appointed judges expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, for his high trust and stated that they would strive to fulfill their duties with dignity in order to ensure the rule of law in their future judicial activities.

In conclusion, the Chairman spoke about the legal state-building that began in our country after the return of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to power, about the progressive reforms carried out by President Ilham Aliyev in the judicial and legal sphere, about strengthening the independence of the judiciary, as well as about the important steps taken to ensure and protect the supremacy of the Constitution.
